Project Description
We are connoisseurs of small spaces — seeing opportunities in even the most non-assuming spots. And that eye for space maximization came in handy for this full-apartment renovation in an historic, Beaux Arts building on Ontario Street in Washington, DC.
The Lanier Heights neighborhood location provided a lot of inspiration for the interior design itself, and the client’s energy and commitment to sustainability enabled us to employ the latest in Earth-friendly materials in vibrant ways. We capitalized on the intricate details and existing character of the property — such as the exposed brick and natural light — when building a new kitchen and bathroom to complement their lifestyle.
Plus, all the materials meet (or exceed) requirements for sustainability with an emphasis on no VOCs. In fact, we researched multiple cabinet lines before choosing one that ensured all pieces — including frames and blocking — were formaldehyde free.
